Science Annex

University of Tampa | 8,000 SF | 2010


The Science Annex is an 8,000 square foot building that includes an organic chemistry lab, biology labs, faculty offices, and a 35-seat classroom. The University of Tampa intends to expand the building to 26,000 square feet in the coming years, which will also be occupied by laboratory space.


The building was designed and constructed in less than ten months to ensure that it opened for classes in August 2010.


The building is LEED Gold Certified. Sustainable elements included: reduced waste throughout the construction process; improved building performance and energy efficiency; and improved levels of indoor air quality.
