Alico Arena

Ft. Myers, FL

Florida Gulf Coast University | 120,000 SF | 2002

Alico Arena at Florida Gulf Coast University offers spaces for physical education, recreation, intramurals and inter-collegiate competition. The arena has four full-size basketball courts and seating for 4,500 spectators. In addition, there is a second floor jogging track, an aerobic exercise room, fitness center, auxiliary practice courts, administrative offices, and locker rooms.

Alico Arena is also designed to serve as an emergency hurricane shelter. Openings were designed in the facility to resist high wind pressure and its impact, and there is a source of emergency power and water.

In addition to housing FGCU's NCAA Division I athletic program, the arena hosts concerts, speakers, trade shows, and corporate events.
