Harvard Jolly worked with Munroe Regional Medical Center to develop a master plan and design an expansion that nearly doubled the size of the existing hospital.

The new seven-story patient tower includes 154 private patient rooms, 30-bed ICU/CCU, and 14 CVICU rooms. Improvements were made to nuclear medicine, medical records, pharmacy, central processing, surgery and recovery departments.

The warm and comfortable lobby embraces patients and visitors as they enter the hospital. The first floor houses expanded dietary services and a visitor/employee dining room with views to an outdoor garden. An impressive 2-tier rock waterfall flows down from the second floor entry to the main entrance. The second floor entrance leads to a centralized outpatient services area and is also connected to a new parking garage.

The hospital houses four state-of-the-art, dedicated cardiothoracic operating rooms. An observation gallery in the suite was the first of its kind on the east coast, which allows visiting specialists and other professionals to view live surgeries in the operating theater.

In the time since the major expansion was completed in 2003, Harvard Jolly has continued to work with MRMC on an updated master plan, renovations to the surgery department, and a number of other improvements to hospital.
